Spring in Toronto - Cherry Blossoms at High Park
It's that time of year again: the time when residents and visitors alike stream en masse to take ridiculous posed photos of themselves underneath some of the prettiest trees in bloom. Prepare yourselves for bedlam... this is peak cherry blossoms at High Park.
In the autumn light, even the most depressing of places can look amazing. Not that I'm saying Toronto is depressing...
Toronto: GET EAST. Do it before it is not awesome anymore, which will be soon.
Every time I bike through the valley, I think simultaneously how great it is that we can access the Don River so easily, and how much more potential there is for this to become an even better public space.
Blinking back that bright autumn light, feeling the warmth of the sunshine and eating squash related products are all excellent things to do in October.
I guess it was 2 weeks ago now that we went to High Park to see the cherry blossoms. What I didn't know at the time was what an absolute mass of people the park would be.
I'm not the kind of person who forces you to click a "read more" link just to find out. The answers are beaches, street meat, and hot docs.
