Copenhagen +|-

The happiest nation on earth: is it too good to be true? Spoiler: yes. An architecture student’s experiences with those crazy Danishes in Copenhagen while studying at the Kunstakademiets Arkitektskole.

Renting an apartment in Copenhagen: This is what 3500 dkk/month will get you.

I am not exaggerating when I say that this is the best I could do in finding a room. Do you know what my other option was? Sharing an apartment in the north of Nørrebro (and I mean, the *far* north of Nørrebro) with two unshaven Icelandic men, one of whom slept on a pull out bed in the living room and would be sharing the closet (in my room) with me. Yeah no thanks. And the funny part is - I actually feel lucky to have this room.

Let's try to focus on the good, shall we?

STUFF IN VESTERBRO:

Falernum - looks like a conglomerate of good places to eat and drink. I walked past Falernum and the brunch looks delish.
Les Trois Cochons moved to Vesterbro! It's right next to Le Marche, deli take-away. Yum.
KAFFE - A tiny cafe, reminds me of Cafe Los.

Mikkeller Bar, only the best little pub in all of Copenhagen.

Bang & Jensen, LeLe, etc. etc. If only I were independently wealthy! I could eat so well!

Granola - for brunch and cafe awesomeness.

I'm getting down and dirty with my portfolio today. After I set up my room and unpack everything. This may involve a potential visit to the art supply store, as I decided to make one physically drawn/colored/painted image per project (outside of my thesis), to bring a unity of style and show off my representation skillz.

Oh, and pssh. I might have forgot to mention, that I managed to snag a ticket to the exclusive INDEX design awards on September 1 at the opera house. HRH the Crown Prince and his woman will be there, it's black-tie, and it's by invitation only. So I have to find appropriate shoes to go with my awesome dress. I've been waiting a long time to find an event to get all fancified for. I hope there will be boatloads of free champagne.
